When you’re surrounded by the puzzle pieces, you can’t see the picture clearly...
I had one of those coaching sessions last week that reminded me why I love this work so much.
The session was with Bill Hershey, founder of Life Stream Business.
Bill and I have been working together for over two years now.
The journey began with a 2.5-day private business retreat, where we redesigned his business and marketing strategies and set-up his Signature Workshop Touring System.
After that, we spent six months meeting regularly to help him implement everything we’d started on the retreat.
Last year he joined the Majik Mind: Your Village of Creators to stay connected and supported, and then last week he booked one of my Walk & Talk Coaching Sessions because he wanted another set of eyes on the next chapter of his business.
One of the things I love most about working with people over a longer period of time is that every conversation starts where the last one left off...
We’re not spending the first forty-five minutes catching up.
We’re getting straight to the juicy, “Here’s what’s next part”....
Bill’s business is doing really well.
He has recurring revenue, wonderful clients, steady referrals and a business that is supporting his lifestyle.
He humbly declared that for the first time ever, he’s actually not out actively marketing his services to grow his revenue.
He’s content and grateful with what he has. YAY!
Which means, ‘growth’ wasn’t what he wanted help with...
He wanted to figure out where he was going next, now that he’d arrived to this particular summit on the mountain trail.
Over the past several years he’d immersed himself in Business Coaching, Integral Coaching, Somatic Trainings & Vedic Astrology.
He’d become quite good at all of them.
His question to me was:
“How do I bring all of this together?”
About 20 minutes into the conversation I could already see it.
Bill thought he had several different services. He was even wondering if he needed two different websites...
But I could plainly see ONE unified body of work.
Over the next hour we redesigned his business around a philosophy we started calling, The Whole Entrepreneur.
Because that’s who and what Bill really serves.
He isn’t helping people with just bookkeeping.
He isn’t helping people with just marketing.
He isn’t helping people with just Vedic Astrology.
He isn’t helping people with just somatic facilitation.
He’s helping entrepreneurs become the kind of people capable of building meaningful, prosperous, purpose-driven businesses.
Once that became clear, the rest of the details came together surprisingly fast (packages, pricing, marketing, etc).
We reimagined his Signature Workshop so it introduces people to the Whole Entrepreneur concept while giving them the chance to experience it firsthand.
We mapped out a new paid 2.5-hour workshop for entrepreneurs who want to go deeper into that work after the Signature Workshop (to be offered monthly-ish).
We created a three-session breakthrough experience where you get to experience each dimension of Bill’s work. That will be priced around $1000 (probably)...
The first session helps you understand yourself, your strengths and the season of life you’re in through Vedic Astrology.
The second session turns those insights into a practical business strategy and a clear plan of action.
The third session focuses on the nervous system, helping you work through the resistance, fear and internal patterns that so often stop good ideas from becoming an abundant reality.
By the end of those three sessions, you will have experienced Bill’s entire approach, and have a plan to move forward with.
From there, moving into his longer-term coaching retainer becomes a natural next step and easier bridge than what he had before.
We also simplified his packages, talked through a stronger guarantee, mapped out a cleaner customer journey and clarified what his website actually needs to communicate now...
All within the space of an hour...
None of those ideas appeared out of thin air.
The pieces were already there... we just got present to them.
That is so often the case. People don’t take the time to step back and see what they already have.
I’m guilty of this too.

None of those services are actually “new”.
Our team has been doing much of that work for years.
But on one recent auspicious weekend, I took a couple days of space for myself (from my wonderful family), to step back, look at everything we were capable of doing at Majik Media, while asking an important question:
“Where can we provide the greatest value for our people?”
Within a couple of days, everything clicked into place.
The services.
The packages.
The messaging.
The pricing.
The positioning.
BECAUSE I finally took the time to arrange the puzzle pieces that had been scattered across my desk and inside my brain.
And the response has been pretty damn epic!
Which is always a good sign that you’re on the right path!
There’s a good chance you’re in a similar position....
One thing I’ve learned after coaching - literally - thousands of entrepreneurs over the years is this:
The longer you’ve been in business, the harder it becomes to see your own business clearly. You’re just too close!
It’s difficult to see the bigger picture when you’re surrounded by all the pieces.
That’s why every great author has an editor.
Every great athlete has a coach.
Every great musician has a producer.
Not because they aren’t capable of doing it alone...
It’s because another experienced set of eyes can often see patterns that are invisible from the inside.
And something AI cannot do is sit across from another human being and notice the moment something clicks.
It doesn’t hear the excitement in someone’s voice when they stumble onto an idea that finally feels true.
It doesn’t recognize the connection between something you said today and a conversation we had eighteen months ago.
It doesn’t know which ideas you’ve already tried, which ones failed, or which strengths you’ve been undervaluing for years.
It also can’t look you in the eyes and tell you when you you’re being too hard on yourself, or when need to push through your own resistance and just ‘try the damn thing’ you’ve been thinking about for the last two years...
That’s the work of experience, relationships,
and creative thought partnership.
An experienced coach, group of peers, or creative thought partner isn’t valuable because they have all the answers...
They’re valuable because they’ve spent many years developing the ability to recognize patterns, connect seemingly unrelated ideas, and help people see possibilities that have been sitting in front of them all along.
Sometimes that perspective saves months or years.
Sometimes that skills helps make a whole lot of money!
Sometimes it changes the direction of an entire business and life in the space of a conversation.
Space is the key word.
