Over the past week, I’ve had several coaching conversations that all revolved around the same theme:
I should be more productive.”
“I should be doing more.”
“I should be further ahead than I am.”
Sound familiar?
It inspired me to write & produce this little comedy sketch.
The two characters represent the two voices many of us live with every day:
The relentless inner critic who constantly moves the goalposts and is never satisfied with where they actually are...
The quieter voice of reason that gently reminds us to take an honest look at reality instead of comparing ourselves to an imaginary versions of who we think we should be.
The truth is, half the battle of entrepreneurship is getting over ourselves.
Our impossible expectations.
Our tendency to compare ourselves to people who are years ahead of us.
The stories we tell ourselves about not being enough.
Our self-doubt.
Our perfectionism.
Our habit of trying to wear every hat instead of asking for help.
The sooner we stop fighting reality and ourselves... and instead, start working with reality and our gifts, the more peacefully and effectively we move forward.
