IMPORTANT: How Often Should you Email your List?
Email marketing is a no-brainer, but I encourage you to really lean into your email list—lean into it as hard as you can. Personally, I send two to three emails per week to my list. (aka - YOU!)
Now, you might be jaw-dropped and aghast at that idea, thinking to yourself, "Well, I'd never. That's just too much!" But think about how much most people are posting on social media. Some creators aim to post something clever and value-providing one to three times PER DAY!
Sending a few emails per week that enhance value for my audience is nothing.
In fact, since I've bumped it up to 2-3 emails per week from an email every week or two, my open and click-through rate has increased a lot (over 40% on average).
You might be intimidated by the amount of content you'd have to create to email this often, but you'd be surprised at how easy your workflow can be with practice.
I capture coaching moments and turn them into articles & podcasts, or I write an article, film myself doing a video version for YouTube, and then take the audio of that video to turn it into a podcast episode. This allows my audience to consume the content in three different ways (read, watch, listen); significantly increasing my chances of engagement. It usually only takes an hour to do all three things PLUS get it shipped out as a newsletter. Not bad and totally worth it!
I can't stress it enough—your email list is really, really important.
I see too many people who only send one to two emails per month.
Now, imagine this is a relationship, like a friend, and you're only reaching out to a friend once a month. It's hard to grow a friendship deeply if you're only talking to that person once a month. You need to go deeper with your audience by connecting with them more often.
I highly encourage you to try it—you'll be surprised at how many people reach out thanking you for your presence in their life rather than the fear you have about getting emails because people are annoyed.
In our world full of distractions, if you're not top of mind, then you can be easily forgotten. Establishing a deep-rooted, trust-filled relationship with your audience takes time, which means the more value you provide, the faster and more they trust you. It's simple math!
This means you need to be that incredible person they listen to and hear from on a regular basis. Last week, someone told me they know someone with 92,000 people on their email list, and they have NEVER emailed them! Don't be the person who doesn't send emails out of fear of annoying people. They signed up for your list because they want to hear from you, so give them what they want!
As an entrepreneur, your email list is your greatest marketing asset, so use it often. We have done partnership launches for lists as few as 135 people, which generated over $35,000 in revenue. It doesn't take a lot; it just takes a lot of trust, and trust comes from emailing them value regularly!
So, it's not about how many people you have on your list. It's the quality, and the quality comes from being consistent, connecting, and providing value regularly.
I hope I drilled this into your beautiful and brilliant mind today. Do a 90-day experiment starting today and then email me your thank you for pushing you over the edge! You're very welcome, and have a good week!
